In the Diocese of Kumbo, Good Friday 2020 ceremonies took place in the parishes with a limited number of Christians as recommended by Bishop George Nkuo in order to fight against the spread of Covid-19.

Most of the parishes started the Stations of the Cross at 2:00p.m and the Celebration of the passion at 3:00p.m.
On his part, the Chief Shepherd of Kumbo, in the chapel of his house, remarked during the homily that “today we remember that sin and death are conquered,and the cross becomes the symbol of our hope our faith and our victory.” The blood of Christ’s cross saves us and so we have a reason to call it a “GOOD FRIDAY”.
Unlike other years,during the Solemn intercessions, the last intention was to pray in the current pandemic. This was observed over Kumbo Diocese. Then the Veneration of the Cross, a d Liturgiof the Eucharist after it.

The ceremonies ended at 4:30p.m giving each and all time to go back home silently or prayerfully and in meditation, recalling the act of Christ’s death for mankind on the Cross.
